Sabahan local artist association or “Persatuan Artis Tempatan Sabah” (PERTISA) is a group who responsible to stand and protect loacal sabahan artist. Now days sabahan artist had proven that the quality and standard of their product is meet the standard requirement. If you look closely to our local music or entertainment, you will found there are more and more young generation get involve in the music and entertainment. After this sabahan local artist community grows, and then they need an association or club to support them. It’s not easy to stand by your own foot in this competitive industry if you not strong enough.

I didn’t really sure when PERTISA had formed, but PERTISA already have their own theme song and office( visit PERTISA to listen, lyric also provided). PERTISA office is located in Jabatan Muzium Sabah, this office is their base for discussion and administration. Any inquires can refer to PERTISA office. I can make a conclusion here, PERTISA had formed a few years but they didn’t recognize by public.

National composer Asmin Mudin had join PERTISA on August 22, 2008.Abu Bakar Ellah and Clarice J.Matha also officially become as PERTISA on that day. September 5, 2008 PERTISA had create their own history after successfully make a decision to counsel “Anugerah Artis Tempatan Sabah”.

Before this it called annual KE gathering but this year KE make something different and call their gathering with more commercial name, “KE Star Studded Nite 2008”. This is the first time ever I was heard that gathering going to be “red carpet” concept. Photography section will be FREE of charge… so do not let this chance, grab it.


KE Star Studded Nite 2008, is open to everyone, remember to get dress beautiful as an angel because you have a chance to win the best costume or the best style on that night. There will be a few activities on that night such as :

I got this information from www.gimbaran.com and they are actually one of the producer of movie, music video, karaoke, documentary and televcd in the local dialect such as Kadazandusun, Murut, Bajau, Sunagai, Rungus and many more. I was spending my weekend surfing internet and one of my favorite web is youtube. Using "artis Sabah" as my keywords and i found few videos upload by midunmich85. He and his friends had compose few song by them self. I didn't want to talking about the quality of their song or video because its completely very low. The main key point i review them in my blog is their talent, they had shown their effort and hardworking to produce their own songs. I believe one day this people will success but they need support from family and friends. If they are really serious in this industry, they need to polish their music and vocal skills. Keep improving and good luck :)

Papier Mache Launch New Album.

Most of the public still didn’t know who is Papier Mache. Papier Mache is a 7-piece rock band, complete with violinist. They write their own songs, in 3 languages: English, Malay and Kadazandusun. Being childhood friends and in some ways related, the band has been around for the best part of 10 years. They are based in Tamparuli, a small town in the state of Sabah, Malaysia.

Papier Mache had recorded their songs in RTM Kota Kinabalu studio and become third runner up in Sutera Habour 2003. Papier Mache also invited as a special band RTM day on 2003, Cosmopoint battle of the band 2007. Now 2008, Papier Mache comes out with their first album called Papier Mache after a long waiting.

As mentions Papier Mache have seven members and their are Kuak@Cyril Johnny (vocalist), Inson@ Jaes Juanis (violin), Ebert @ Gilbert Jim Lajim (electric guitar, acoustic, keyboard and drumer), Nod@ Fredinand Seniong (electric guitar& acoustic),Kimut @ Lawrence Sani (Keybord), Golib @ Ezbon P.Godomon (guitar bass) and Ben Francis (drmer).

According to Papier Mache official website on September 11, 2008 their album already finish for recording and waiting arrive to their hand on Monday next week. Their recording company label is TJC Talent Studio.

There are ten songs in Papier Mache album and the concept is Multi pop.
