Felix Agus is the first runner up of Akademi Fantasia session 3 and now work with KK FM , University Malaysia Sabah radio station. Felix and Lydia started knowing each other’s since 2006 and it was love at first sight. Yesterday 17/9/2011 they were married, consolidated in a church before the reception ceremony in Penampang Cultural Centre.  There is another reception this Saturday's (24/9/2011) in Felix's residence at Kota Belud.

My Satu Malaysia Video Winner ,Debbie Chong

Congratulation to Debbie Chong winning the gtand prize,RM 5,000.00 of My Satu Malaysia Video. It was organized by Merdeka Sudah Bah facebook group. There are winner selected every week and bring home RM 1,000.00. Contestant only need to create a video clip while the song are provided by the organizer. AMP (ERA FMand HITZ FM ) are the official radio for this contest. This contest was started on 15 August and ended on 9 September 2011.


It was a simple video but give a big impact showing the lifestyle and sabahan daily life culture covering every religion and race with different age.

Another record was created last month after some of our youth join together in the main event “55 hours nonstop poetry” organized by Dewan Bahasa Dan Pustaka Negeri Sabah. This 55 hours require 3 days to complete and congratulation for those who make this possible. Now Dewan Bahasa Dan Pustaka Negeri Sabah already listed in Malaysian book of record.

Atama lead BERSIH 2.0 campaign in Kota Kinabalu Sabah.

An outspoken local singer, Atama, is leading the Bersih campaign in Kota Kinabalu, come July 9.

Atama or Andrew Ambrose Mudi, who had earned the wrath of Barisan Nasional leaders before for his outspokenness, told a press conference here today that he and his friends Michael Liew and Chester Pang, had yesterday applied for a police permit for the peaceful assembly at the city’s Padang Merdeka here.

“We decided to apply for the permit, with complete documents such as the programme for that day and a list of the organising committee members,” he said.

Asked what would happen if the police deny them the permit, Atama, 36, said they would re-apply and “will cross the bridge when we come to it”.

Atama, who is a member of MCLM (Malaysian Civil Liberty Movement), said that he was leading the Bersih campaign as a civil movement.

“We are exercising our rights in accordance with the Federal Constitution,” he said.

“We have formed an ad hoc committee to get the various civil movements to come under one umbrella to support the Bersih rally in a disciplined and peaceful manner,” Atama said.

The Kadazandusun singer, speaking in fluent English, expects 500 to turn up for the march.

DJ Othoe Suria FM Resign

It was a shocking news today after some of my friend tag me in Facebook , the famous social website. Before going to office after breakfast, I rush to get a copy of Utusan Borneo and searching the HIburan sections and read the shocking news. I believe most of Suria Pagi Kinabalu listeners are shock and not believe what happened. It just a short of period , on 2008 DJ Othoe start a new segment and revolutions in radio broadcasting after become the apprentice of DJ who use sabahan local slang. It was inspire some of our local DJ in RTM to follow DJ Othoe style or presentations. Beside using sabahan local slang DJ Othoe also open the opportunity and give new hope to pur local artists especially in sabah to be featured in radio stations.

Around 2 years plus, DJ Othoe had been decided to leave or in other words resign from Suria FM Kota Kinabalu. The main reason push him to take this hard decision just because he didn’t have the chances to played more sabahan local songs and the top management had decide only three to four sing can be played compare to previous nine songs.

Suria Pagi KInabalu have new DJ, and his name is RAY … I am not sure either this guy have an aura like DJ Othoe. Some of my friends said, Ray already started his new job as replace DJ Othoe but I cannot give a comment for him because I didn’t listen to Suria Pagi Kinabalu this morning.

For me, I don’t think DJ Othoe resign from Suria FM just because of the song selections had been limited but there must be a big issue between Othoe and top management. This problem can be solve by putting it on a round table and looking for the solutions. Suria FM top management also know that they want to localize the content, that why they become the first commercial radio station focusing local content.

I believe Suria FM also scare that they ratting will goes down and their competitor will have advantage to increase their rating. For me , Suria FM Kota Kinabalu is the only radio station to play more and more sabahan local song because AMP network (ERA KK, HITZ and MY FM) didn’t play many sabah local songs. AMP Network already give their reason on this matter , ERA FM KK cannot played many sabahan local song because AMP Network already have Radio Bayu which is only available in Digital content or ASTRO and not frequency. HITZ FM KK is focusing on English song and MY FM is in Chinese.

Well … I just can give comment but the decision is made by their management and maybe they have their own reason for their decisions. My main concern now is who will fight and give opportunity for our local talent especially in singing. In another side, I believe DJ othoe already have new planning because it will not be realistic if he just resign without any backup planning. Is he going to join another radio stations or open a new radio channel? Well… we have to wait and see… but do believe me, DJ Othoe already have a great follower and just after his news of resignation was publish, new Fan Page was created “I Say NO Suria FM- kami tidak dengar suria fm kalau Tiada dj Othoe”.

Every Harvest Festival I will take a long leave, now I am back. I had spend one day at KDCA on 30 May 2011 and there are many improvement especially on the traditional house, had been repair. As usual every year KDCA will become the people ocean and it really hard to get parking. I have to park my car at dynasty food corner and walk to KDCA. It doesn’t matter because everybody has their good time to celebrate Kaamatan (Harvest) Festival.



Talking about main event of this Kaamatan, Unduk Ngadau 2011 I heard many complain and comment on Facebook complaining and express their disappointment. Before we look on the bad side, I want to congratulate the winner of unduk ngadau 2011 , Bo Tiza Arthur S Disimon.

Bo Tiza Arthur S Disimon cannot answer the question which will show she’s IQ level and asking more time to answer questions. This section is one of the main factor to choose the winner , and Bo Tiza Arthur S Disimon make it possible.. Undu Ngadau 2011. Beside the Q&A sections, some of the contestants complain that the mackup artists of Bo Tiza Arthur S Disimon are one of the committee for Nnduk Nagadau 2011.

02. Adalah saya dengan ini menulis surat bagi membuat aduan dan bantahan rasmi mengenai penganjuran Unduk Ngadau 2011 yang berlangsung baru-baru ini.


03. Saya mohon senarai kenyataan dibawah ini akan di ambil perhatian, dijawab dan diambil tindakan pembetulan dengan segera demi menjaga kesucian semangat Unduk Ngadau.


1. Saya masih ingat kenyataan Yang Berbahagia pada persidangan Pengerusi-Pengerusi Unduk Ngadau Daerah 19hb Mei dengan terang dinyatakan bahawa Encik Martin Buguk (Make-up Artist JK UN KDCA) tidak akan memekap peserta. Pada 30hb dan 31hb Mei ramai yang mendakwa nampak Encik Martin Buguk dan anak buahnya yang juga memakai kad AJK Unduk Ngadau KDCA memekap peserta Penampang, Tuaran dan Klang Valley.


2. Saya juga masih ingat kenyataan Yang Berbahagia untuk membuat kad nama kepada Pengerusi-Pengerusi Unduk Ngadau. Tapi saya diberitahu bahawa kad nama tersebut tidak dibuat dan ada orang yang mahu buat tapi oleh kerana tidak dibayar maka kad nama tersebut tidak pula dibuat.


3. Baju gaun malam yang diagih-agih kepada peserta-peserta tidak adil. Ramai yang nampak peserta Penampang awal-awal telah dibungkus baju gaun malamnya, tidak perlu berbaris mengambil baju dan diserah sendiri oleh Make-up Artis JK UN KDCA dan nyata lebih cantik daripada peserta yang lain.


4. Makanan yang ditapau kepada peserta-peserta kurang sihat:-
a. Sayur lebih kurang tiga sudu besar dan satu pedal ayam goreng.
b. Nasi goreng tidak masak dengan betul dan hanya seketul ayam goreng
c. Hanya tiga ketul roti dipotong dadu sebesar pemadam
Peserta-peserta terpaksa menahan lapar dan sakit gastrik.


5. Saya maklum bahawa JK UN KDCA ada menyenaraikan lawatan kebajikan untuk peserta-peserta UN. Tapi saya dapat tahu, tiada lawatan yang dibuat dengan alasan takut peserta-peserta sakit. Sungguhpun tiada lawatan, masih ramai peserta-peserta yang sakit kerana berlatih catwalk sampai lewat jam 12 malam.


6. Isi ceramah yang tidak releven dan penggunaan laras bahasa campur inggeris. Pendidikan dan latar belakang peserta-peserta berbeza.


7. Saya pertikaikan anugerah Miss Friendly kepada peserta UN Kuala Penyu. Saya ada mendapat maklum balas lebih dari 25 peserta UN menyatakan bahawa peserta UN Kuala Penyu tidak cukup syarat.


8. Saya pertikaikan anugerah Miss Pink kepada peserta UN Putatan. Saya ada mendapat maklum balas bahawa penganugerahan ini dibuat secara sambil lewa.


9. Saya pertikaikan juga anugerah Miss Beauty kepada peserta UN Penampang. Saya dapat maklum balas bahawa penganugerahan ini dibuat dengan terancang.


10. Hampir kesemua ahli-ahli JK UN KDCA terlibat dengan penganjuran kaamatan di Penampang, Putatan, DBKK, Tamparuli dan Tuaran. Nampak ‘bias’ pada peserta-peserta di tempat ini.


11. Sistem dua hari bertanding membebankan peserta-peserta. Mereka terpaksa tidur dengan rambut yang dibentuk “gong”. Mekap Artis, sewa baju, sewa tangkong pun dibayar dua hari. Hadiah saguhati yang diberi tidak setimpal dengan usaha peserta. Ini tidak termasuk soal logistik yang lain.


12. Pemenang Unduk Ngadau 2011 adalah meragukan. Peserta tersebut langsung tidak menjawab soalan yang membawa markah 20% intelek. Unduk Ngadau ini tidak layak masuk dalam Top-7. Ramai menyatakan bahawa kemenangan UN 2011 ini adalah kerana JK UN KDCA memberi perhatian kepada nama keluarga peserta Penampang.


13. Sepatutnya Top-15 hendaklah diumumkan pada 30hb Mei. Ramai yang mengesaki senarai tersebut telah diubah.


14. Kenapa hakim 30hb dan 31hb Mei tidak sama?. Hanya Mandy saja yang kekal. Hakim-hakim pada 31hb itu pun saya kenal ada kaitan keluarga dengan peserta Penampang.


15. Bila peserta-peserta Unduk Ngadau Negeri 2011 dapat Sijil Unduk Ngadau mereka?


04. Oleh yang demikian Yang Berbahagia, saya berharap perkara di atas dapat diselami oleh ahli-ahli Jawatankuasa Unduk Ngadau KDCA dan memohon justifikasi berkaitan dengan kenyataan-kenyataan di atas sebelum dikongsi kepada masyarakat Sabah secara luar talian atau dalam talian.


Perhatian dan tindakan Yang Berbahagia adalah sangat saya hargai.

The best reason why Bo Tiza Arthur S Disimon is because of her name “Bo Tiza” means Mutiara in malay or pearl in English. According to my blogger friend D-BosFM , last year winner also have kadazan dusun words in her name, “humonodun”. I guess this is the main factor why Bo Tiza crown as UNduk Ngadau 2011. Moral of the story .. we have to accept the result and learn from history, if you want to win UNDUK NGADAU.. make sure you have KAdazan Dusun words in your name. D-BosFM suggest great name Olivia Olumis and Ursula Unduk Ngadau. Bah .. now your turn to suggest name for our daughter …

Did you guys familiar with Appy Tots and Puma names? If you doesn’t know or recognise their name, video below might give you the perfect answers.

Both of them are truly have a great talent in music and Appy Tots is one of the Cosmic band member who had make history at battle on Astro Blast off. Puma also work close to W.O.R.M and actively joining singing competition. Both of them are more into Jazz but true artists can perform any genre. Both of them also had work hard and make sure KE Next Top Entertainer 3 run smooth which Appy become the official commented while Puma is the chairmanof the competition .

AMP: Recording quality issue

In my previous post , I questioned why AMP especially HITZ FM and ERA FM did not play local sabahan songs. After few days of my post, there are few local sabahan song played onair. A month after that I herd more and more song played at HITZ FM and I really happy that the number of local sabahan song are growing. Beside played songs our local artists also have their jingle on HITZ. Thanks for the great effort and your support for local sabahan songs.

I admit , im not really listening to ERA FM but I still hope that this radio station also have same passion as HITZ FM. Yesterday news reported that ERA FM also played local songs especially malay. Starting from 23 April, this coming Saturday Carta Hit Borneo and Borneo English Top will start their show from 11 to 12 afternoon.

This is a great movement done by AMP to help our local music industry growing. According to Uno or Syazleey Zalsyam the operation manager of AMP Kota Kinabalu, they are trying very hard to help our local music industry. The main reason why many of the song submitted to AMP not played in their radio station because the recording quality issue. Uno give some example that some of the songs are recorded in bed room and using hand phone. Sabahan artist need to start making changes now and fulfill minimum recording requirement so that the song can played in AMP radio station. Changers need to be done because no one will listen to radio if the sound quality bad and AMP radio will lost their listener and it will impact their income. This minimum requirement also will educate our local sabahan artists to done their recording properly. Now its time to start revolutions by changing the way we done the recording and improve the sound quality.

Biggest questions for Akademi Fantasia 9 fan had been answered today after Astro make an official press release today , 28 March 2011 at , Aeon AU2, Taman Setiawangsa. 10 weeks or 3 months will be a big battle for this AF9’s student to grab a chance to be the AF last season winner. As usual only 12 students was short listed .

Esther Applunius Chin winner for CLAS 2010.

Carta Lagu Artis Sabah (CLAS) 4th edition organized by RTM at 1borneo Hypermal last Saturday. It was a great show and showing sabahan music industry in the right track and improve a lot but there are huge space of improvement need to fulfill.

Esther make Sabahan proud after become the 2nd runner up in One in A Million reality TV show. After OIAM, Esther produces his new album and the luck was in her side after announced the winner for CLAS 2010. Beside becoming the winner, Esther also was selected as the winner for Best Vocal.



Dayang Noraini who popular with her songs Kelawear announced as Best performance. She had given her best and most of the audience can predict this title will goes to her.

Momain Blues which is popular with Blues Kita announced as the “Most popular songs” (lengthy stay in chart) and “Most Popular” (SMS Voting. )

Akademi Fantasia 9 Top 25 – sabahan-

Today astro already announced the top 25 contestants of Akademi Fantasia 9. Public can vote their favorite contestants and it will contribute 50%. Judgers also will hold the 50%. That means there is more chance for the audience to vote and make sure their favorite listed in the top 12.
Aznil Hj Nawawi , the number one Malaysian host once again become the chosen one. Aznil was left AF about three years but yet his name always become the topic every new season of AF. As we have known, AF 9 is the final closing for this number one reality tv in Malaysia and Aznil is the best person to be the host of this AF 9.

Last nite during when watching the hottest match between Liverpool and Chelsea (yes... Liverpool win 1-0), I open my email and saw a wall post at Ranau.Fm facebook fan page. The massage from Traugott Forschner asking the Dusun native to preserve their own tradition especially the Dusun language . Some estimation by year 2020, there are less than 5% can speak and understand Dusun language.

Having contacted me via FB, I am surprised that Ranau folks despice their own language and use BM for communication. Since 1957 I tried to find a way of bringing together the Ranau dialect of Momogun with thew Rungus and other Momogun dialects. At that time Australians still dominated the langauge work and were fixed on producing a Bible than bringing together the Pasok Momogun people of the Rungus in the Kudat district. The way you distances yourself from your own language, you lead young people to forget your heritage. Please preserve your own tradition. T. A. Forschner

KK FM Auditions get awesome acceptance

On 26 and 27 of January 2011, KK FM (91.1 HZ) once again calls Malaysian for an interview. As announced in their announcement, KK FM is looking for someone who can be a deejay and news reader.
I have few friends who come to the auditions and said the auditions is quite hard but interesting. Two days of open interview show may new talent trying their best to start new carrier with KK FM. Felix Agus and Adi are the panel of this open interview.

Becoming a radio deejay is a dream for everyone who loves to get public attentions. Some of sabahan local artist also attended this auditions such as Esther Clement Tubong and Usal Jon. Some of my friend said Esther Applunius also come for this auditions but when I ask Black Noty @ Sabahan.fm , he confirm that she (Esther Applunius) didn’t come to the auditions. Esther also made into next stage.

Beside the artists, some of online radio deejay from Sabhaan.FM such as Black Noty, Salipar Jipun, Steam Pressure One's and DJ SM attend this interview and some of them are going for the next level. Stay tune to KK FM because they will announce who already shot listed and you (listeners) will choose who will get employ with KK FM by sms voting. Many of us know that there are many reality show in Malaysia , but did you know Sabah had their own reality show? Ehehhe… but this will not be publish on TV. After being work hard last two years, now another season will come with a lot of improvement from the previous years.

It had been a long time Akademi Fantasia (AF) bringing out new star in Malaysian music industry and some of local media labeled AF is the No#1 reality Tv in Malaysia. After 8 years running successful , now it come to the end and the last sessions and it going to be very special. Yesterday, January 14th, 2011 press conference at Dua Residency, Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur around 3 PM and Astro Ria Channel , Puan Azlin Reza Azmi with Executive Producer , Mohd Irwan Abdul Rauf had confirm that Akademi Fantasia 9 is the last sessions.

It is a big tribute for Sabah because we are the only place that Akademi Fantasia 9 will organize auditions besides Kuala Lumpur. That means there are only two places auditions for Akademi Fantasia 9 as listed below:

1. Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur - 11, 12 & 13 February 2011
2. Promenade Hotel, Kota Kinabalu Sabah - 28, 29 & 30 January 2011

Astro also doing other changers on the auditions for this year which is provide auditions online. All you have to do is select song from the list, record and upload to you tube. For more details visit Akademi Fantasia 9 online auditions.

This year also , Akademi Fantasia 9 provide many songs choices and total is 40 sing , 20 for male and 20 for female with cover many music genre. Being a last sessions , Akademi Fantasia 9 will bring all the memory back on stage since sessions 1 until 8.

Astro also said that Akademi Fantasia 9 will be host by famous Malaysian host. My guess, it will bring back Aznil Hj Nawawi to Akademi Fantasia. This session also will be bit different because the principle of Akademi Fantasia 9 will be import from other country either Singapore or Indonesia. Well it still a big questions for us to predict it for now but there will be a press conference soon revel everything.

MALAYSIAN WANT'S-M1 Sabahan Contestants

There are brand new reality TV show will broadcast soon on Astro Ria and HitzFM. MALAYSIAN WANT'S-M1 already complete their auditions nationwide which started from Kuantan (4-5 December 2010), Ipoh (8-9 December 2010) , Penang (11- 12 December 2010), Kuala Terengganu (14 -15 December 2010), Kuala Lumpur (17 -18 December 2010), Melaka (22-23 December 2010), Johor Bahru (28 -29 December 2010), Kuching (4-5 January 2011) and Kota Kinabalu (7-8 January 2011). M1 is a new Reality TV Programme where six Malaysian will be chosen by fellow Malaysians to form a band.

M1 will dividen into three stages which is Stage 1:Auditions, Stage 2: The Workshop and Stage 3: Go Live. There are 6 category offered by M1, Vocalist, Keyboardist, Lead Guitarist, Drummer, Bassist and Percussionist. Only 10 will select for each category (total of 60 contestants) will be joining the second stage “The Workshop” for 10 days. At the end of stage 2, only half (30 contestants) will go to stage 3.

Stage 3 will broadcast live in TV (Astro Ria) and schedule started broadcasting live on Febuary 26, 2011 (Saturday) and followed by result on the following day, Sunday. Each week 1 band will eliminated based on the judgers marks (60) + Sms voting from audience (40). Only two band will perform in the final on Mac 19,2011.

The judgers are very professional , Helen Yap, Fauzi Marzuki and Cat Farish. All of them are well known and have good achievement in their carrier.

That is the details on this M1 TV reality show and now its time for me to introduce our sabahan contestants who made into Stage 2. There are :

Wali band concert was reschedule to February

This concert was reschedule to February but the date was not confirm yet. It was published in Sabah Times. According to Productions Manager BOMP , leeny James , main reasons this concert reschedule is the vocalist of Wali Band, Faank not felling weel.
