Atama and DJ Othoe on war?

I was tagged by DJ Salipar Jipun yesterday and it was capture my attentions. I read the whole comment posted and try to understand how it was happened. On 16 October 2010, Dj Othoe of Suria Fm was organized a showcase called “girl power” at My Way Café, Karaoke and Lounge. You can read my post here (http://starznews.blogspot.com/2010/10/suriamyway.html) a day before the showcase. This event was successfully run well in the eyes of public and everybody enjoy that night.

After that showcase, there are comments arise that the performers didn’t get paid and somehow the venue didn’t provide a table for them to sell CDs and sign autographs. They just got a few tiger beers. This issue was discussing publicly on facebook. According to Atama Katama , one of the artist who perform during the “girl power” complain they didn’t get paid . After long comment discussions, the organizer Dj Othoe give an explanations on this issue. Just read the print screen below.

Ok let’s think carefully here, why this problem can happened? For me Atama and Dj Othoe both are right. Atama Just want to help his friend and others artists to get what they should in a simple words , payment. On the other side Dj Othoe had mention early this “girl power” showcase, the artist won’t get paid. The main problem is who reported to Atama that the performers during “girl power” showcase didn’t get paid? She is the one who responsible on this matter and apologize from Atama and Dj Othoe.

If she really need a payment, why not work hard looking for showcase who provide payment and comfortable environment. I agree what Atama said, “there is a thing called CONTRACT AGREEMENT'..!!” which must be sign and agreed from both side before proceed doing something. CONTRACT AGREEMENT will protect our right and evidence if something goes wrong. If you are commenting after the showcase and no evidence , it just useless and you will get nothing.

If you are really particular on payment, why not register under MACP and get paid annually even you are performing free for the whole year. All you have to do is monitor your songs played in radio, television or shopping mall. The more you appear or covered by media you get more income. Dream to get recognized by public, you have to work hard market your talent in a positive way.

While reading the comment, I was surprise that one of my blog posts was quoted and that means what I wrote actually get attention from readers.

I hope in the future this minor issue wont arise again and keep in mind, before doing something let the contract agreement come first so you will be in a safe position on the future.

12 goddesses from China in Sabah

Eric, host of Guangdong Television China’s “Star of Tomorrow”, poses with the programme’s 12 lovely contestants, who are scheduled to shoot on location at 1Borneo Hypermall this Friday.

KOTA KINABALU: 31 crew members from Guangdong Television China will visit Sabah beginning this Friday to film a variety and talent series programme, called “Star of Tomorrow”.

The entourage includes the popular actor and host Eric Tsang, together with 12 oriental beauties from all over China.

Eric Tsang, one of Hong Kong’s most distinguished actors, is best known for hosting the Super Trio Series on TVB over the course of 10 years, and will host the programme.

The show follows with 12 women competing for the coveted title, “Star of Tomorrow”, along with the chance to get a massive jumpstart on their careers in the world of entertainment.

The programme’s filming in Sabah will showcase the state’s arresting landscape, colourful culture and hospitality.

Eric, who is no stranger in Kota Kinabalu, said, “I visit KK regularly, and everyone is so gracious and hospitable here. It felt like home, and it was a breeze hosting in such an environment.”

Throughout their one-week shooting in Kota Kinabalu, the group will enjoy accommodations hosted by 1Borneo Hypermall.

“1Borneo Hypermall is an ideal location for my shooting. I will definitely make it a point to return here,” said Wang Ruoshi, the producer of the programme.

The programme is set to be shot on location at various spots found around 1Borneo Hypermall, including the 1Borneo Rainforest, Chinatown Yuyuan Garden, Royal Selangor and Noor Arfa.

Filming itself is scheduled this Friday.

The crew will also film the actual talent competition at the mall’s centre atrium, while shoppers will be treated to a fashion show from Blay and Salabianca that features the programme’s 12 ladies.

The fashion show, set for Sunday, November 23, will also be accompanied by numerous interactive games.

I was spending my weekend surfing internet and one of my favorite web is youtube. Using "artis Sabah" as my keywords and i found few videos upload by midunmich85. He and his friends had compose few song by them self. I didn't want to talking about the quality of their song or video because its completely very low. The main key point i review them in my blog is their talent, they had shown their effort and hardworking to produce their own songs. I believe one day this people will success but they need support from family and friends. If they are really serious in this industry, they need to polish their music and vocal skills. Keep improving and good luck :)

December is a time of us to talk about great holiday and I usually will take a break from work. I will spend my time going to church and going for open house. It’s time to enjoy. Just a few days after Christmas, we will start to make New Year countdown. There are many ways people celebrate Christmas & New Year such as go shopping, Aramai Ti, Balik Kampung and spend time with family or friends. Remember your safety and put it with a high priority especially when you have aramai ti. Enjoy your holiday and take a moment to think back what had you been archive in year 2007, how your 2008 gonna be?
Wish you again Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Do not forget today is the Malaysian open house at Padang Merdeka Kota Kinabalu Sabah. You all are invited. (+_;)

Hai… I’m back!!!!! Now I’m starting bloging again after stop around one and half month. Maybe some of my blog reader wants to know why this blog didn’t update for a long time. Honestly I concentrate to find a job in my lovely home, Sabah. Thanks God, finally I had got a job in Sabah. Just let you know, now I working in one of the great Japanese company, Tele Dynamics Toshiba. The main business of my company is EI (Electronic Imaging), Business solution and laptop. If you interested in Toshiba Laptop, just inform me and I will give my best to help you. One more thing I want to remind you, I’m not a sales man…. But I can help you to get a new laptop with a bit low price. :) Because now I was close to Toshiba, so I will make some post about Toshiba Laptop and a few great things from Toshiba.

Grooves and new moves at Backyard fest

THE Backyard JAMFest 2007 takes off tonight with a list of musicians that looks all geared to rock your socks off at the Backyard Pub in Kuala Lumpur.
The party begins at 9pm, with soloist Sherman Tan raising the curtain, followed by the evening’s main act, the Sharin Band featuring keyboardist Richard Gomes.

The JAMFest is named after the late Jairus Anthony who died from the effects of pancreatic cancer four years ago.

Jairus was a pub performer who strove to put as many newcomers as he could on stage whenever he performed.

This year, the event organised by publican Jerry Chong and his music director Edmund Anthony spreads over five Wednesdays, starting today.
“Like Jairus, we try to promote as many new bands and music as possible,” said Chong. “We have a mix of old and new acts and the new ones are especially excited at showcasing their brand of music.”

The Backyard Pub, located in Taman Sri Hartamas, is well-known for staging live music seven nights a week. It also has a very active website which has attracted quite a bunch of both local and foreign acts over the years.

The rest of the musicians slotted to perform at the Backyard JAMFest 2007 are Superbar, Sunburst Blues Power, Small Stones with Jeff Nathan (Oct 31), Shoelace Untied and Blister (Nov 7), Azmyl Yunor and Fasylive (Nov 14) and Mark Renesh, Albert, VJ, Bada and Muriz (Nov 21).

The new acts to watch out for include Superbar, Sunburst Blues Power, Shoelace Untied and Blister.

Fasylive features Maldivian lead guitarist Fasy who was recently named “best unsigned guitarist in the United Kingdom”.

The Backyard JAMFest 2007 begins at 9pm. There is no cover charge. The pub is located at Jln Sri Hartamas 8, Taman Sri Hartamas, KL.

Perak Religious Department (JAIP) holds singer over dressing

The Perak Religious Department (JAIP) has ordered a singer to appear before the Syariah Court for “exposing her body” during a performance and “encouraging immoral activities”.

However, an indignant Siti Noor Idayu Abd Moin, 22, said she was wearing a sleeveless top and long pants when JAIP officers raided an entertainment outlet in Sunway City where she was performing on Tuesday.

“They asked to see our MyKad but one officer refused to touch the cards, referring to them as najis (unclean),” she said.

Siti Noor Idayu said the JAIP officers later detained seven people, including four employees of the outlet, and brought them to the department office.

“They put us in a tiny room and turned up the air-conditioner. I heard one officer tell the other: Bekulah dia orang (Let them freeze),” she said.

Siti Noor Idayu said an officer even told her that the money she earned working in the outlet was duit haram (illicit money) and that her parents, children and future generations would all be tainted for using such money.

“They finally wrote me a notice accusing me of dressing sexily and encouraging immorality just because I sang there,” she said.

The notice ordered her to appear before the Syariah Court here on Aug 6.
