I am wondering who is the singer of this songs , thanks to New Sabah Times for the info. After read the newspaper, i visit d-bos fm blog because he usually will scan and upload the latest news in his blog.

According to Kristo, Tulang besi Urat dawai (iorn bone wire muscle) is a song about a man who is working hard for his life. It was a rock song and I maybe it was the first kadazandusun “heavy” songs. Kristo also mention that he will release his first album next year which had been recorded in few studio around kota kinabalu.

Sabahan Hakka Singer, Tian Long at World Hakka Pop Music Awards 2011, held in Meizhou ,China

Did you remember video below, I had make a post about it long time ago in my blog. I not understand this song but I was enjoying while listening to it.
Did you know the guy sang this song have few songs? I just discover it and I was very excited writing this post. This guy knew as Tian Long aka The Hakka Singer. Tian Long already giving up in music after ended up with nothing and struggling in KL more than 10 years. He get stuck, cannot doing anything because of his contract and the manager didn’t want to release him.

Back to sabah and start his own graphic company and don’t want to make music again. Who know back to his hometown is a blessing for him, making music just for fun turning him into a superstar. Tian wrote a Hakka song and upload into youtube and next morning surprisingly thousand viewer had watch his video.

Tian Long are invited to attend the World Hakka Pop Music Awards 2011, held in Meizhou ,China on this coming August 20. Over 2000 sings were submitted for these competitions from all over the world. Among all the song, two (2) of Tian’s songs have made into final top 20 “Don’t go to England” and “Da Pao Wang”.

Professional judges’ votes: 20%
Weekly radio broadcasting results: 30%

Part of the voting was done on China’s radio station, and Tian’s songs held the top spots for 12 out of 24 weeks.

Another record was created last month after some of our youth join together in the main event “55 hours nonstop poetry” organized by Dewan Bahasa Dan Pustaka Negeri Sabah. This 55 hours require 3 days to complete and congratulation for those who make this possible. Now Dewan Bahasa Dan Pustaka Negeri Sabah already listed in Malaysian book of record.

AS BOW the 1st Bajau Rapper in Sabah

IF you already familiar with Atama as the KadazanDusun Rapper in Sabah but now I want to introduce you another Rapper who claim himself as 1st Bajau Rapper in Sabah. I was my lucky day after get a chance to meet As Bow and get a chance to ask him few questions. The first question is how long are you in this R&B genre and did you have any single or album? It was a command question but it was a great point to start an interview.

As Bow already ten years in this R&B genre and work with Atama before and sign as recording artists under Kinabalu Records. Why I didn’t know or realize your existence in sabahan local music industry? As Bow explain , “I was busy and give full commitment to his job and it was not easy because he work in Johor but now I already transfer to my beloved state Sabah.”

As bow now will give his best and give another color to sabah music industry by providing different music genre but still include sabahan conventional music identity. Since As Bow contract with Kinabalu records already expired, no he have to work by himself and for the first attempt , As Bow release new single “Meditasi” which use Malay and Bajau language.

Yes .. that is the word.. I am really tired for this few days .. really tired .. because I had working 25 hours a day last month. Even I said I was tired but at the same time this is the best ever task I had done so far, working with many sabahan local artists and get awesome support from TVi crew will remain as one of my sweet memory. Oh ya.. for those who didn’t know who is TVi, i will give short introductions.. it was a new channel in ASTRO channel 180 provide local content which you will never get in another television channel.

Me and the crew already finish for the first edition of video shooting and will broadcast in TVi soon channel 180 soon. I hope you guys will support our productions and put our local music industry another level. AMP: Recording quality issue

In my previous post , I questioned why AMP especially HITZ FM and ERA FM did not play local sabahan songs. After few days of my post, there are few local sabahan song played onair. A month after that I herd more and more song played at HITZ FM and I really happy that the number of local sabahan song are growing. Beside played songs our local artists also have their jingle on HITZ. Thanks for the great effort and your support for local sabahan songs.

I admit , im not really listening to ERA FM but I still hope that this radio station also have same passion as HITZ FM. Yesterday news reported that ERA FM also played local songs especially malay. Starting from 23 April, this coming Saturday Carta Hit Borneo and Borneo English Top will start their show from 11 to 12 afternoon.

This is a great movement done by AMP to help our local music industry growing. According to Uno or Syazleey Zalsyam the operation manager of AMP Kota Kinabalu, they are trying very hard to help our local music industry. The main reason why many of the song submitted to AMP not played in their radio station because the recording quality issue. Uno give some example that some of the songs are recorded in bed room and using hand phone. Sabahan artist need to start making changes now and fulfill minimum recording requirement so that the song can played in AMP radio station. Changers need to be done because no one will listen to radio if the sound quality bad and AMP radio will lost their listener and it will impact their income. This minimum requirement also will educate our local sabahan artists to done their recording properly. Now its time to start revolutions by changing the way we done the recording and improve the sound quality.

Biggest questions for Akademi Fantasia 9 fan had been answered today after Astro make an official press release today , 28 March 2011 at , Aeon AU2, Taman Setiawangsa. 10 weeks or 3 months will be a big battle for this AF9’s student to grab a chance to be the AF last season winner. As usual only 12 students was short listed .

Esther Applunius Chin winner for CLAS 2010.

Carta Lagu Artis Sabah (CLAS) 4th edition organized by RTM at 1borneo Hypermal last Saturday. It was a great show and showing sabahan music industry in the right track and improve a lot but there are huge space of improvement need to fulfill.

Esther make Sabahan proud after become the 2nd runner up in One in A Million reality TV show. After OIAM, Esther produces his new album and the luck was in her side after announced the winner for CLAS 2010. Beside becoming the winner, Esther also was selected as the winner for Best Vocal.



Dayang Noraini who popular with her songs Kelawear announced as Best performance. She had given her best and most of the audience can predict this title will goes to her.

Momain Blues which is popular with Blues Kita announced as the “Most popular songs” (lengthy stay in chart) and “Most Popular” (SMS Voting. )

KENTE3 – Heat 1 result

Last nite first heat KE Next TOP Entertainer sessions 3 , KENTE 3, officially started and once again Pusakag Café become the venue of this competitions. First of all, I want to give some credit for Kadus Entertainment for being work hard organized this talent show. Previous two sessions are very successful and yet this year again sessions 3 had become real and it getting more exciting from the contestants tasks and the prizes also getting more expensive.

Previously for tow KENTE sessions 1 and 2, there are no semifinal, means if the contestants become winner of their heat group they entitle to become the finalist. This KENTE3 is a bit different because all the contestants need work hard in semi final before going thru to FINAL. Same from previous sessions, all contestants need to sing two song and compulsory one kadazandusun song while the second songs are their choice either malay or English.

Talking about the prizes, KENTE 3 will honor the winner with RM 3 000.00, first runner up RM 2 000.00 while second runner up will bring home RM 1 000.00 . The best part to be in the Final is all the contestants are given new song and it will become their single.

Many of us know that there are many reality show in Malaysia , but did you know Sabah had their own reality show? Ehehhe… but this will not be publish on TV. After being work hard last two years, now another season will come with a lot of improvement from the previous years.

Last time I just follow the update of KE Next Top Entertainer, but now I really glad that I can help them to run this competitions. By only two season, KE Next Top Entertainer already produce good quality entertainer and for your information all the winner is fresh, means they never have single or sign as recording artist before. Era FM, HitZ Fm and My Fm Officialy operating in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Local talents in Sabah may have the chance to make it big in the music industry after all, thanks to opportunity by AMP Radio Networks with the launch of its three radio channels here, yesterday.

“We know there are a lot of talented people in Sabah, and the Akademi Fantasia (AF) show is just an evidence of this. We welcome anyone to share his or her talents with us … your songs may be played, not just here but also in the national channels,” said AMP Radio Networks executive director Datuk Borhanuddin Osman.

Speaking during the official launch of the three-hour live ERA fm, MY FM and hitz.fm broadcast here yesterday, he said the broadcast involves exclusive local facelift to engage local listeners in a more personal way.

For the initial stage, the three radio stations are set to air local content, weekdays from 10am to 1pm live from the Kota Kinabalu studio, hosted by homegrown announcers – Cassie and Rica for hitz.fm; Ily and Beebey (ERA fm); and Gin and Min Jun (MY FM).

Stressing the move was not an after-thought, Borhanuddin said they have been playing with the local sound after going through many years of understanding the market demand in Sabah.

“Our focus on Kota Kinabalu is an important move forward as we respond to the people’s calls to provide more local information, updates about happenings here and contests designed for locals, in addition to the national segments already on offer,” he said.

He said being the radio market leader, it was a natural step for AMP to reach closer to the people in the city while they work on ways to improve the quality of sound by upgrading transmitters located here and its surrounding areas.

“Our station here is getting the newest equipment. Currently, the coverage is just within Kota Kinabalu but we hope, eventually, we will reach out to other areas as well,” he said, adding their Bayu station is penetrating into places they cannot go.

He stressed: “We are here. We are serious. We know the competition but I think it is good, because I do not see any other medium as a competition. People used to say that the print media and radio will die but we evolve. We are here to stay.”

AMP Radio Networks group general manager (Programming), Jake Abdullah, meanwhile, said their presence is to build the bridge, especially for talented people both in the west and east of Malaysia.

“Our market research showed that the people here (in Sabah) like our brands (referring to the radio channels) but they felt left out. They want to go to concerts, take part in contests, and listen to local happenings … we hear you, and that is why we are here,” said Jake.

Borneo Buskers - street performance

Do you guys have ever seen street performance around kota kinabalu city? You might seen it appear on musicians blog or youtube because it already well known in western country even in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur as well. Street performance or more popular called BUSKING now officially syarted in Kota Kinabalu. First w saw their video in youtube and it very interesting because they show talent to the public on art painting and music. Most of them join this Busking around Jalan Gaya. Watch video below and give your comment .. sabahan youth very talented.



Yesterday I heard there will be another Busking at Jestelton Jesselton Poin from 6 to 9.30 Pm. That evening was rainy and I was late to drop off just to watch closely what this busking about. I was arrive at JP around 9 pm and it was really surprising that I knew few familiar faces JJ ,Dj SaliparJipun and Julie. I was enjoy watching them sing a song with playing guitar and entertaining the JP visitors. Most of the visitor are hangout for dinner and playing futsal at suria sabah. There are one big futsal team join the busking while take their rest after finish their futsal.

The visitor of JP accept this busking and some of them invite Julie the queen of busking to entertain them by requested songs and most of them are sing along with her. Around 9.30 the buskers team prepair going home.
Miss Julie or more known as the queen of busking had few times try her luck in Akademi Fantasia and One In a Million reality tv show but unfortunatelythe luck not on her side. Keep trying Julie and wish you the best of luck.

As we know apple with his brand new gadget iPhone4 just launch in Malaysia at the end of september. Everyday people are talking about this iPhone and belive me, it is a super computer because you can do anything by this small device including listening to sabahan radio online.

Disfony … rock from Lahad Datu

Disfony is a band from Lahad Datu and the beginning of this group is just play music as their hobby. This band was formed since 2008 and re arrange on 2009 with Ahmad Azizan (Vocal), Welly (bassis),Rahmat(guitar) and Karudin (drum). Hard rock is their main influence but at the same time played alternative, rock and more to disko elektronikawith cold pitcher.

Nasyid indie

Have you heard about an independent Nasyid ? Honestly I never heard before until I receive an email about Elhamz and surprisingly it from Sabah. Elhamz is Duo Vocal – Elty and Hamzah from Ranau and Keningau. Elhamz claim their songs more to love songs, religious and Dakwah with hope to share positive massage to their listeners.

Both of them are study in Universiti Malaya major in Islamic Education.
Elhamz official blog also said that they are under FEELHONEY ENT management. Now Elhamz in progress of recording in NEUROTIC STUDIO owned by Abdul Halim Ahmad(Devotees). For now, Elhamz already have single CERITA CINTA and will include in NASYID SEMESTA BERTAHMID volume II. CERITA CINTA was compose by Hamzah and lyric by Mazhair.

I had review WORM before you might view it W.O.R.M "Destiny in a Decade" album launching. Worm has their unique identity Visual Kei and they are the first band in Malaysia using this concept. Visual Kei is a type of Japanese rock blend little bit of local tribal and electro into their music concoction.

New Malaysia reality TV show: Keynote

Keynote is the brand new reality tv show in malaysia hosted on Astro Ria (channel 104). I never realize this reality show because this is a world cup session. This word “Keynote” remind me motivational keynote speaker , John Di Frances – Ideas that Challenge which always give us a new motivation to improve in our life. Take an advantage from the challenge we facing to develop new skills.

This Keynote reality show will develop new talent who has the expertise on composing songs and not a motivational keynote speaker. Keynote might not really popular as another reality shows in Malaysia but for me this is one of the best platforms to boast our music industry. Composers are the back bone for songs because they are who create the melody.



Keynote hosted by Farish Azizi and the principle is well known Malaysian Composer Ajar. Format for this show is same with Akademi Fantasia 12 contestant. Audience will vote and each week one contestant will eliminated. Below are contestants list of this Keynote reality show…
