Club rouses support to bag Jo-anna the title

KOTA KINABALU: After being crown-ed Kadazandusun beauty queen or unduk ngadau in 2007, Jo-anna Sue Henley-Rampas has set her eyes on winning the coveted Bintang RTM 2009 title.
The 20-year-old second-year law student will be competing against seven others for the top spot in the finals on Saturday.

Recognising her talent, several Kadazandusun Cultural Association officials have formed a Jo-anna Fan Club to mobilise support for her.

Besides, the Bintang RTM title, there are two subsidiary awards to be won -- Best Performance and Most Popular.

The Most Popular award is determined by text votes via SMS and the Jo-anna Fan Club has called on Malaysians to vote for her by typing BRTM ANNA and send it to 32776.
"As of yesterday, Joanna was leading for the Most Popular title and we hope Malaysians will continue to vote for her to enure that she remains at the top," said fan club chairman Harry Beatty, adding that Jo-anna had all the attributes to become a successful singer.

Also known for her story telling skills in the Kadazandusun language, Jo-anna is all set for the finals.

"Jo-anna told us that she is ready for the finals," said KDCA unduk ngadau chairperson Jornah Mozihim.
